Researcher, Cartographer, and Educator based in Chicago

I create spatial media, conduct research & teach

My work sits at the intersection of urban theory, environmental science, digital art, and storytelling, visualizing how the planetary dynamics of urbanization and climate crisis are transforming environments and lives. I am based at the University of Chicago, where I am a Senior Research Associate in Cartography and Spatial Media at the Urban Theory Lab (UTL) and teach in the Committee on Environment, Geography and Urbanization (CEGU). I am also part of the Climate Rights initiative, developing geospatial and audio-visual evidence for climate justice and contemporary climate litigation. I hold advanced degrees in design studies (Harvard Graduate School of Design) and architecture (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna). My visual and cartographic projects have been commissioned and exhibited by institutions including Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain (2021, 2022), the Venice Biennale of Architecture (2016, 2018, 2021), and Bergen Assembly (2025).

My first book, Data-Spheres of Planetary Urbanization (Jovis, 2026, co-authored with N. Brenner, M. Gomez-Luque, and N. Katsikis), develops a series of experimental spatial data visualizations of the world's urban fabric first presented at the 2021 Venice Biennale of Architecture, pairing them with essays and methodological reflections.
